Bert Kempson was born in 1902 at Luton in Bedfordshire, son of Alice Mary Ann Kempson, formerly Guess, and her husband Frederick Kempson, a straw hat packer. Bert appears in the 1911 census living with his parents and siblings at 47 Cambridge Street, in the southern suburbs of Luton.

Bert has yet to be researched fully after 1911, although he appears to have died in Luton in 1960, aged 57.
