The Sallie DeWitt 1981 Genealogy disagrees on the date of death. Page 78A says 1 March, and page 95 says 8 March 1968. A citation from Ralph Leon Vest (Rvest@@ipa.net), through Jo Martin (jomartin1@@worldnet.att.net) agrees with the March 1st date. According to the Sallie DeWitt 1981 Genealogy, he was a very personable man. He was a carpenter, who lived in Poteau, Oklahoma during his first marriage, and Santa Barbara during his second. He is interred at the Goleta Cemetery, in Goleta, near Santa Barbara, California. He took his own life.

A web-based city directory lookup service (citydirectorylookup@@yahoo.com) placed Banjamin T. Vest and his wife Stella at an address at 1908 Bath, in Santa Barbara, in the 1961, 1964 and 1968 directories. The 1964 and 1968 listings had "retired" next to his name. Their telephone number was 966-4303.
