In his father George's will, Benjamin was bequeathed land, presumably in Russel Parish, Bedford County, Virginia, "lying (on) the South Side of Ivie Creek". The March 2003 letter form Rhoton to Abshier stated that Benjamin moved to Hart County Ky in 1790, then later relocated to Green and then Taylor County, KY.

According to copied information sent to J. Abshier from Trudy Rhoton in March 2003, in Deed Book #7, page 308, Benjamin and Susannah Gaddy deeded to Littleberry Hawkins, of Bedford County, Virginia, 184 acres on Ivy Creek, in Bedford Co. VA, up to the line of Bartholomew Gaddie and others, for a sum of $1278.80.

Rhoton to Abshier information of March 2003 concerning his will was difficult to read, but it looked like Benjamin E. Gaddy's will can be found in the Green County Kentucky will book 2, page 3 (or perhaps a page numbering in the 30's). Mathew Kelley and William Kelley were the witnesses to the will, and Elias Barbe was the named executor.

According to the copied information sent to J. Abshier by Trudy Rhoton in March 2003, Benjamin Gaddie's estate was probated on 21 October 1818 in Book 6, page 376, in Green County, Kentucky by the "order of Mathew Kelly, James Durham, Joseph Watkins & Horatio Chandler, appointed commisioners, to layoff & assign to Susannah Durrett, wife of John, late wife of Benjamin Gaddie, deceased, her 1/3 part of the estate of Benjamin." The will evidently left everything to Susannah, unless she married, and if she married the will specified that 2/3 would then go to the children.
