BIOGRAPHY: Brayton Family History Volume 1 By Clifford Ross Brayton, Jr. 1978 Benjamin Brayton (Francis 4, Thomas 3, Francis 2, Francis 1 ), the third child and third son of Francis and Sarah (Phillips) Brayton, was born 30 Nov 1746, at Portsmouth, R.I. and died 20 Sep 1811. Benjamin Brayton was married to Mary Atwood (Charles 3, Francis 2, Thomas 1), the second child and second daughter of Charles and Mary (Greene) Atwood. Mary (Atwood) Brayton died 1794. Benjamin Brayton was married to Wethian Greene, as his second wife. Benjamin Brayton was named as a beneficiary in the will, dated 27 Jul 1756 and "proved" (probated) 27 Jun 1761, at Portsmouth, R. I., of his paternal grandmother, Mary (Freeborn) Brayton
