Per the V/R of Halifax, Mass. to 1849, Benjamin Bosworth was married to Hannah Samson "both of Halifax" on April 10, 1785, in Halifax, and joined in marriage by Rev'd. Mr. Ephraim Briggs. The 1790 U.S. Census recorded Benjamin and Hannah as living in Halifax with two daughters and one son. The 1800 U.S. Census recorded Hannah as widowed with five of the six children living with her in Halifax. When Benjamin's father John Bosworth died in 1801, the provisions of his will were administered by Benjamin's brothers David and William. On Aug. 1, 1802, there was a division of the Real Estate, and at that time, a one-sixth share was given to the "heirs of Benjamin Bosworth." On April 12, 1802, Hannah asked that David Bosworth of Halifax be appointed guardian to her six children, and Sarah and Jonathan being above 14, joined in the request. On April 13, 1802, David and William Bosworth, yeomen, younger brothers of Benjamin, along with Moses Tomson "gentlemen" gave bonds. References
