    6. BENJAMIN3 ALLEN (ROBERT2, UNKNOWN1) was born 1763 in Augusta Co., VA, and died 1845 in McMinn Co., TN. He married SARAH ELIZABETH DAVIS 2/11/1793 in Jefferson Co., TN, daughter of BENJAMIN DAVIS and ELIZABETH UNKNOWN.

    Notes for BENJAMIN ALLEN:
    This is an estimated date of birth. He said he was age 81 in 1844 in a Declaration he signed in connection with his Revolutionary War pension application. Also, see notes on Monticue.

    Date of death is an estimate. He died before 1850.

    According to Benjamin Allen's Revolutionary War Pension Application (1844) he enlisted in the Augusta County Militia and served for three months at Clover Lick on the Greenbrier River in VA and there helped to guard the frontiers from the Shawnee Indeans. He re-enlisted in September 1780 and served under Captian Allen during which he marched to Yorktown, VA and wat at the taking of Lord Cornwallace and was discharged. This service should qualify Benjamin for DAR and SAR entry. In addition, he was fined for missing several muster calls for the Augusta Co., VA militia iin 1782.

    In about 1787 Benjamin moved from Augusta Co., VA to TN. In 1787 he received a North Carolina Land Grant of 100 acres on the waters of McCown's Creek in Jefferson Co., TN. He moved to McMinn Co., TN betwen 1796-1799.
