From an e-mail from Carole Kelly on 14Aug., 2005: Next info...Basil lived to a ripe old age. He didn't die before the 1901 census as you thought. I have a copy of his obituary and can send you his actual death date. He never married. He actually lived longer than his siblings.

    A farmer, he had spent almost his entire lifetime in Clare County. He was born June 19, 1896, in Canada, and was not married.

    Mr. Mitchell is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Mitchell, and a brother-in-law, James McGuire, both of Gladwin..."
