Her identity is shown by a statement of Ephraim's son Nahum Newton saying "I hereby certifie that Amos Newton of Southborough, who married the eldest [i.e., still living] daughter of Ephraim Newton, late of Leicester ...". She is also mentioned in Ephraim's daughter Mary's will as "sister Azubah Newton" along with a reference to "brother-in-law Amos Newton".
