Arthur Cox was the fifth child of Thomas and Elizabeth Cox. He died when he was only four years old. His grave in the churchyard at Barnack reads: "IN / AFFECTIONATE / REMEMBRANCE OF / ARTHUR SON OF / THOMAS AND ELIZABETH COX / WHO DIED FEB. 19. 1877 / AGED 4 YEARS". When Thomas died seven years later, he was buried alongside his son.
