From "Tennessee Cousins" by Worth S. Ray, pg. 722:

Archibald McCorkle, Soldier of the American Revolution came to Henderson County, Tennessee, perhaps with the first settlements there. He was still living in the county in 1840 at the age of 81 years (born apparently in 1759). In the 1820's a Samuel McCorkle was one of the first settlers in Henry County, mentioned on its records, and may have been a brother or a son of Archibald. Archibald McCorkle married Joanna White, daughter of Joseph White. (more info on this page).
