First Wife's Apparent Murder

The following court record in Botetourt County Court appears to indicate that this Archibald Kyle had a prior marriage to wife Margaret that appears to have been murdered by a slave:

James Curray [Cuncy in Summers, Annals], John Jackson, & Samuel Adams post 100 l. bonds to appear as witnesses. [Appears from this record that she was a free woman of color who was indentured to AK. Notes

Archibald Kyle is a suspected sibling (or possibly a cousin) of Margaret Kyle who married James Rowland. Additional research/sources needed to prove.

From Genforum Message Board:
I have a Archibald Kyle in Botetourt County, Va.in 1763 & died in 1783 or 1784. Wife was Mary & children were Sally, Rhoda, Fanny & Marvin. Marvin later moved to Ala. I suspect that Archibald was from Pa. prior to moving to Va.
