↑Source:History and Genealogy of the Families of Chesterfield, Massachusetts, 1762-1962, p. 17, covers the family of "Archelaus Anderson" and makes the following remarks: "Archelaus Anderson may have been brother of Jonathan Anderson. ... There seems to be some confusion as to whether his name was Archelaus or Archibald." It is not clear what evidence about Archibald this source was considering, as it seems all the records in Chesterfield use Archelaus, but this source's theory seems reasonable. If so, he was of Chesterfield by 1765 when his intention of marriage to Miriam Biglo was published. He m. (2) 13 Apr 1769 Sarah Webber, enlisted in the Rev. War 16 Apr 1781, age 45 [so born about 1735], and died of small-pox 23 Feb 1782 at West Point.
