"1. Anthony Howd married at New Haven, Jan. 1672/3, Elizabeth Hitchcock, born at New Haven 4 June l65l, daughter of Matthias and Elizabeth Hitchcock. They settled in Branford, where births of their three children were recorded, and Anthony died by June 1676 when the inventory of his estate was presented in court. The court records tell us that in 1682 the widow of Anthony was now married, and that the heirs were eldest son John, second son Anthony, and third son Benoni."
