"Anthony Hawkredd (William), baptised in Boston, England, 3 Aug. 1561, died and was buried there, 28 Apr. 1628, 'gentleman.' He married first, about 1595, Isabel Dowse, born in Freiston about 1560, buried in Boston, 22 June 1615, daughter of John and Cassander (-----) Dowse of Freiston. He married secondly [Anthony Hawkred of Boston, gent, aet. 44, (sic) [It will be noted that the marriage license of Anthony Hawkredd gives his age as 44 in 1615, making him born in 1571 instead of 1561. Either the marriage record is in error or Anthony, whose baptism is given in 1561, died young, and a second Anthony was born ten years later who was either not baptised in Boston, or the record was omitted. As Anthony married in or about 1595, he would be more apt to be born 1571 than 1561. If born in 1571, he would be son of Elizabeth and her only surviving child in 1575, but he named his first daughter Mary, his second Sarah, his third Anne, and it was not until a fourth daughter was born that he named one Elizabeth]. & Elizabeth Askough of Thornton in le More, wid., lic. 24 July 1615.
