The identification of Anne Stanley the daughter of Peter Stanley with Anne Stanley the wife of Edmund Sutton appears to have been made based on that fact that the marriage took place in the same parish as the baptism, and that Alice and Margaret Sutton are mentioned in the will of Peter Stanley.
