"Mrs. Bishop's mention in 1673 of her grandchild Elizabeth Hubbard raises a presumption of another Bishop child who had died before her. Since Mrs. Anne Jordan-Clarke did die before her, and had a daughter Elizabeth Jordan who in l664 had married Daniel Hubbard (son of George), some have concluded that Mrs. Jordan was daughter of John and Anne Bishop. It seems significant to me that 'Betty' Jordan on 7 Feb. 1660/1 was one of the witnesses who proved the will of John Bishop, Sr. [Guilford Town Book, A:l85], the will itself being unfortunately missing. This was nearly four years before she married Daniel Hubbard, so perhaps as a young girl she lived with her Bishop grandparents."
