Ann Dugger was born ca 1784/85 per her age of 65 on the 1850 census. That record listed her birth place as unknown, but if she is a child of John Dugger Surry, then she was probably born in Brunswick Co., VA, or possibly in Orange Co., NC.

Little is known of Ann except that she was on the 1850 census in White Co., IL with the Leonard Edwards family. Leonard was a son of Charles Edwards and Sarah Dugger (c1772) who married 1790 in Orange Co., NC. Sarah is thought to be a child of John Dugger Surry, so that probably means Ann Dugger is as well.

Where was Ann in 1820, 1830 and 1840? She was not a head of household so she wasn't listed by name on those census records.

Ann wasn't with Charles Edwards (brother-in-law) or Leonard Edwards (nephew) in 1840 White Co., IL as neither of them had a female her age with them. Charles actually did, but only one, and that must be his wife Sarah instead. Checking her other siblings, none of them seemed to have Ann in their household either. Her mother Frances did have a female her age with her in Sumner Co., TN that year. That could be Ann Dugger, no way to be sure.

For the 1850 census Ann was living with Leonard Edwards and family in White Co., TN. Her presumed sister Sarah Dugger Edwards was Leonard's mother.

Ann may have died before 1860 for I wasn't able to find her on that census. She wasn't with the Edwards in White Co., IL in 1860.
