Ann Wilson’s origins have yet to be established. Her first confirmed sighting is on 8th September 1760, when she married John Meakins at Dunstable in Bedfordshire. At the time of their marriage John was living at Woburn, about nine miles north of Dunstable.

Ann and John settled in Woburn after their marriage, having nine children baptised there between 1761 and 1780, although two died young.

Ann died in 1793, being buried at Woburn on 27th June 1793. Her burial record does not say how old she was, but she and John had been married for nearly 33 years. John survived her by 25 years.
