Facts and Events
William Bradford in his account of Mayflower passengers does not identify the name of Edward Fuller's wife (he reports "Edward Fuller and his wife died soon after they came ashore, but their son Samuel is living and married and hath four children or more"). Savage identifies her only as "Ann," and Virkus repeats the speculation. In the volume of Mayflower Families through FIve Generations about Edward Fuller, the author concludes that Savage most likely confused Ann, the wife of Edward Tilley, with Edward Fuller's wife, as there are no American or English sources that otherwise give her name. There are a half dozen records of marriages of an Edward Fuller that have been found in England, but only one with an Ann, and none a Hopkins. (See http://www.mayflowerhistory.com/Passengers/MrsFuller.php) Ellen Baker's notes: There are several possible women that could have been Edward's wife. The following were found in the parish register abstracts of the I.G.I., of Edward Fuller's marrying during the time he would have most likely married. Amy Lee (m. Nov. 21, 1596, Abinger, Surrey, England), Ann Carpenter, (m. Nov 25, 1597 in Carlton, Bedford, England), Thomasine Sheppard, (m. May 2, 1597 in St. Gregory, Norwich, Suffolk, England), Joan Raven (m. Oct. 28, 1599 in Woodham, Walter, Essex, England), Elizabeth Buck (m. July 25, 1602 in Great Finborough, Suffolk, England), Barbara Colman (m. June 10, 1606, Chigwell, Essex, England), and Agnes Croucher (m. Jan. 14, 1607 in West Horsley, Surrey England). References
