Ann's parentage is unknown, however we do have some leads on a possible family she is from. Please remember this is from on-line genealogies and is not verified, but it does give us an overview and some possible leads to work on.

Generation 1: Azariah Martin b. 1741(or 1721) in Amherst, Virginia. Spouse-Mary Rhodes b. 1745 (The 1741 birthdate for Azariah works much better, although I have seen both dates on different websites.)

Generation 2: Anna Rhodes Martin b. 1774 in Albemarle County, Va (Azariah1)

Generation 3: Azariah Martin b. 1755 Albemarle (John2, Azariah1)

Generation 3: Azariah Martin b 1776 married Lucy Rhodes in 1791 (James2, Azariah1)

Generation 4: Anna Rhodes Martin 1775 (Azariah3, James2, Azariah1)

Our Ann Martin born 1806 seems like she would fit right into this genealogy, in the 4th or 5th generation. Without more to go on, it would be impossible to say how. But it seems possible, if not likely that Ann is a descendant of the first Azariah Martin and Mary Rhodes. All we have to do is figure out how.
