obituary-- FORMER KIRKFIELD RESIDENT PASSES The death took place on Sunday morning April 11th, 1920, at his home in the Douglas Lodge Apartments, Vancouver, B.C., of Angus J. MacDonald, engineer and railroad contractor of British Columbia, following an acute attack of Bright's disease. He was born in Kirkfield, Ontario, in 1876 and came to Vancouver in 1911. For many years he acted a superintendent of construction for the Canadian Northern Railway. His most recent work was the erection of the railway's large warehouse on False Creek, Vancouver. Mr. MacDonald is survived by a widow, who is a daughter of Commissioner F.J. Gillespie, of South Vancouver, and a two months old son. His mother, aged 86, is also living, together with three sisters and six brothers; Mrs. M.B. Carlin, Victoria, B.C., Mrs. Peter Webb, Halifax, N.S., and Miss Katherine, of Vancouver; James, a return veteran, Vancouver; Patrick at Kirkfield, Ont.; Alexander, Silverton, B.C.; Philip and Walter of Prince Rupert and B.J. MacDonald, of Kamloops, B.C. The funeral took place from the Holy Rosary church to Mountain View cemetery, Vancouver, on Tuesday morning, and was largely attended by friends of the deceased. published in the Beaverton Express, 22 April, 1920 References
