In THE PFRIMMER FAMILY IN AMERICA, Sam Hays states on pg. 379 that John and Sarah Pfrimmer left Harrison Co. IN sometime before 1844 with their living children except Andrew who stayed in Harrison Co. and lived with Sarah's sister Katherine and her husband Michael Manbeck but the 1850 Pike Co. IL census shows Andrew, age 11, b. IL. Andrew was living in the IN Infantry remains a mystery. However, after his discharge, he lived in New Canton, IL where in Aug. 1889 he filed for a Civil War Disability Pension.

If Andrew's birth date is correct, he enrolled in the Civil War when he was fifteen years old. He joined the 38th In Infantry shortly after it was formed at New Albany, IN, Sept. 18, 1861 and was first attached to the Army of Ohio Dec. 1861 and after Nov. 1861 became part of the Army of the Cumberland. This unit served mainly in KY and TN and later including the Battle of Chickamauga, GA., Marietta, Kenesaw Mountain eventually joining the July and August 1864 seige of Atlanta. It's assumed Andrew married Jane Palmer in Pike Co. IL but no marriage record has been found as yet however Lucinda is with Andrew in the 1870 Pike Co. IL census along with daughter Alice b. about 1868 NOTE: See email #E.6,7, & 8 from Shirley Miller, descendent re: Andrew's children.
