Brewster Jones Cincinnati, Ohio - Volume I - The Grafton Press 1908 - Page 92 64 Amos Brewster (Benjamin 4, William 3, Love 2, William 1), married at Canterbury, Conn., March 17, 1761, Jerusha, daughter of David Knight of Norwich, Conn. She died at Canterbury, April 29, 1808. He died at Fort Mifflin, Pa., November, 1777. They lived at Canterbury. Amos Brewster served in the Revolutionary War and died of wound received at Fort Mifflin, he being one of the heroic three hundred who defended the fort so valiantly when besieged by the British. The old New England valor was in Amos and he fell with his face toward the foe. Volume I; Page 73; Mayflower Decendents.....Amos, b 6/22/1735 at Preston, d 11/1777 at Fort Mifflin, Pennsylvania. Amos married Jerusha, daughter of David Knight of Canterberry. Amos served in the Revolutionary War and died of wounds recieved at Fort Mifflin. He was one of the heroic 300 who defended the Fort so valiantly when besieged by the British. The children are listed and Grace was the third child. She married Leonard Warren Perkins at Canterberry, New York. Page 277; Assembly of God Church, Mounds, Il. Brother Robert Foss pastored for awhile. Then he was elected Pastor in Cairo. Van Knight was saved about that time. Sister Knight, his mother, was active in the church many years. References
