Utica Observer-Dispatch, 28 Apr 1983: MRS. AMELIA T. (MILLIE) DURGEE Mr. Amelia T. Durgee, 84, a resident of Newport Home for Adults, formerly of 1928 Baker AV, Utica, died Tuesday evening April 26, 1983. She was born March 10, 1899 in Jersey City NJ, the daughter of Gustav and Philippine Detlefsen, receiving her education in New Jersey schools. On September 7, 1929, she was married to John S. Durgee in Utica. Mr. Durgee died in 1981. Mrs. Durgee was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church and its Womens' circles and for many years was chaplain of the United Commercial Travelers Women's Auxiliary. She is survived by two sons, Roger B. of Larchmont NY, John M. of McMurray PA; one sister, Mrs. Viola Barton of El Toro CA; five grandchildren... and two brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Edmund (Nellie) Durgee of Hillsboro NY, Jane Wilkinson of Clinton, and Merie Detlefsen of New Hartford... Funeral services will be conducted Friday... from the Child's Chapel of Forest Hill Cemetery with the Rev. James V. Davison officiating... Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery...
