Census[2] 31 Mar 1901 Monasterevin, County Kildare, IrelandMary's Lane
Census[3] 2 Apr 1911 Monasterevin, County Kildare, IrelandMary's Lane

Aloysius Joseph Reid was baptised on 24th June 1894 in Monasterevin, County Kildare, son of a bricklayer named William Reid and his wife Elizabeth Mary Bowe. In the two censuses, Aloysius was living with his parents and siblings at Mary's Lane in the town, adjoining the Catholic church. In each census Aloysius was described as a scholar.

In 1924, Aloysius appears to have been the informant for his father's death: the informant is described as "Lucius Reid, Son", which is likely a shortening or a mis-hearing of Aloysius. Aloysius has yet to be traced after this sighting in 1924, when he described as living in Monasterevin.
