Allen Dugger may be a son of Dread and Millie (Bruce) Dugger but that isn't proven. He did live in Sumner Co., TN when they did, and moved to Gallatin Co., IL when they did, so they are obviously closely connected. Flood Dugger was bondsman for Allen's 1830 marriage, but Allen pre-dates Flood's marriage, so probably isn't his son (and not only that Flood had no apparent sons Allen's age with him on the 1820 and 1830 census).

On 28 Jul 1830 Allen Dugger obtained a marriage bond in Sumner Co., TN to marry Susan Looney. Flood Dugger (his probable uncle) was bondsman.

They moved to Gallatin Co., IL in the 1830's.

Allen was listed on the 1840 census in Gallatin near his father and brothers.

References
  1.   Allen had no children. He was executor for his father Dread Dugger's estate.
  2.   Apparently Allen could read and write and was the "golden boy" of the family. He had no children that we know of. He was a farmer, raised horses and also dabbled in real estate, judging from his name being on several documents in Gallatin Co. Illinois. According to Mead Pritchett (about 1998 in personal interview) Allen was killed when he was chopping down a dead tree and it fell on him out in the corral. Allen is buried in Palestine Cemetery #1 close to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church he helped to found. His brother Hardy's young daughter, Parnecia, is buried beside her uncle. Recently James L. Dugger of Occidental, CA arranged for a plaque to be placed on the fallen gravestone which gives Allen's name and particulars.

Allen was apparently well thought of amongst the townspeople.
*** Allen was recorded as an appraiser in the estate sale of Charles G. Russell dated Oct 23, 1841
1860 Gallatin Co records from the Census:

The portion lying in range 8 east, Gallatin Co was first settled by former residents of White Co. Zephaniah Johns settled on the present site of Omaha about 1805. He sold his improvements to Rev. William Davis, who entered the land in 1833. Mr Dunn, Mr. Hurd, Abraham Armstrong, Allen Dugger, Charles Edwards St., John Edwards, Benjamin Kinsall St., John Kinsall, James Trousdale , and MR. Orr were among the first settlers of the township. Allen Dugger was an elder of the Palestine Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Gallatin Co IL around 1868 according the the History of Gallatin, Saline, Hamilton, Franklin and Williamson Counties. He is buried in Palestine cemetery #1. His tombstone gives his year of birth as 1805 and his year of death as 1860. He must have died after the 1860 Census, see above.
