He had been field engineer for the Great Western Sugar Company at Longmont, Fort Collins and Wheatland since 1916 until his retirement June 1, 1953. He was born in Cheyenne, Wyo. Jan. 31, 1887. He came to Sheridan in 1895 with the family in 1895 settling on a ranch on Lower Tongue River, where he grew up. He attended Sheridan county schools and the University of Wyoming from which he graduated in 1915 with a degree in agricultural engineering. He received his master's degree in engineering at Iowa State university. After a year's service in the engineer's corps during World War I he was discharged with the rank of second lieutenant and started working for the Great Western Sugar Company at Longmont. He married Margaret Edith Williams of Milwaukee, Wis., in 1919. She passed away in 1940 and he married Mr.s Carolyn Robinson of Fort Collins in 1947. She survives as does a brother, Roy Williams, and a sister, Eunice Williams, both of Tongue River. Four nieces and three nephews also survive. His parents, one brother and six sisters preceeded him in death. He was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Wyoming Consistory at Cheyenne, the Eastern Star, United Presbyterian Church of Fort Collins, the Engineers club and the American Legion. He served on the board of the Presbyterian hospital in Denver and had been active as Boy Scout and De Molay advisor. Funeral services were from the Presbyterian Church at Fort Collins with internment in Forest Home cemetery in Milwaukee.
