It is believed Alexander came to America about 1780's he settled in Hadley NY by 1788 this gleaned from the History of Saratogo Co. book. Also in the Ballston library a record of the tombstones in the Dayton formerly Stewart cemetery it records that at the reading of the cememtery stones by the DAR Alexander had a Rev. War marker at his stone. This would indicate that he had served in the war and was here at least by the tail end of the war.
