His parents are unknown, but Shadrack Dugger is a good possibility. It seems likely that Alexander is a brother to James Dugger (1809) and John Dugger (1800/10) who also lived in Itawamba.
Alexander Dugger married Catherine Reynolds on 27 Jun 1830 in Maury Co., TN.
They moved to somewhere in Alabama by ca 1835, and to Itawamba Co., MS by ca 1837.
He is listed on the 1840 census in Itawamba near his probable brother James.
