- Doran, Alexander - entered service 1776 in Morris County, New Jersey, where born 1/28/1760; moved with father in 1781 to Hampshire County, Virginia where granted Pension in 1833; resided near Hanging Rock, that County, 1836; query letter in file 1938 from descendant Mrs. W. J. Benson, Onawa, Iowa, states soldoer was born in Patterson, New Jersey, married Sarah Reed 3/26/1790, further was born 10/13/1765, further soldier died in Hampshire County, Virginia.
