Alexander Craig removed to French Broad (Tennessee) prior to 1790.
There are a lot of other references to Craig's in these books. There was also another pair of Alexander Craig's. [One of these Alex's m. Martha Crawford. He could be an Alex. III, son of Alex Jr., but there is also an Elizabeth Craig m. Samuel Crawford who might be his sister and she is dau. of Margaret, so prob. not son of Alex Jr. unless he had another wife]:

I was doing some research in Augusta County and came across a deed from John, William and Samuel Craig to James Gamble dated August 16, 1769 (Deed book 16, pages 102 & 104). John and William inherited two parcels of property, according to the will of Alexander Craig dated May 1, 1764, along with their mother, Margaret. She was deceased by the time of this transaction. The two parcels were originally granted to Alexander in 1755 & 1765. One parcel was purchased from James Patterson. The two parcels were sold to James Gamble. I also found another deed dated Nov. 19, 1766 with Thomas Craig of Charlotte County, Virginia as grantor and John Craig, his brother, of Augusta County, as grantee. This was for 128 acres in Beverley Manor by the Middle River, Augusta County. The deed was witnessed by John Patterson, Robert and Seth Rodgers. I was looking at John Craig, son of Alexander, thinking he might be the same as my John Craig ancestor. However, I noticed that your John Craig died in Indiana. My John Craig died in Wythe County, Virginia, and was married to Mary Cox. Are you sure that John Craig, son of Alexander, died in Indiana?
