Obituary Miss Renwick, who was born in Orono, was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Renwick, formerly of Orono. Her mother was Christina Wilkinson, one of five daughters of Captain Wilkinson who plied a steamboat on the Lakes called the "Maple Leaf." The deceased attended the Ottawa Collegiate Institute and taught school briefly in Canada and then joined her family in New York where she pursued a successful business career in the field of advertising. She was one of the first to go overseas with the Quartermasters Corps during World War I with the United States Army and was stationed at Tours, France, during most of the war. Since retiring Miss Renwick has resided with her sister Miss Elizabeth Renwick, who predeceased her September 25, 1960, and her two brothers, Neil who predeceased her in 1957, and William of New York City, 400 Riverside Drive, who survives. Surviving besides her brother William are cousins Miss Ethel Lockhart of Newcastle and the Misses Lena and Edna Renwick of Redlands, Cailf., and of Orono. The funeral service was held at the Cooke Funeral Parlors, New York Ciry on Thursday, December 8, and was conducted by Rev. Richard Niebanck of New York City. Interment was in Bowmanville Cemetery. Among recent friends and relatives attending the service were three of her old friends of army days. References
