Date: Wednesday, September 6, 1786, Massachusetts Centinel (Boston, MA), Volume: V, Issue: 49, Page 3 - By a letter from Providence, dated Sept. 4, we have received an account of the death of Mr. Adam Streeter, aged about 50. He was violently seized at Smithfield, where he lay ten days - the writer who was present with him, says, "In the full exercise of his reason, he met death with the greatest Christian fortitude and tranquility you can imagine, in the full assurance of a glorious immortality, through the all-sufficient atonement of the saviour of the world." He has for almost five years, once a month, statedly preached the Universal Gospel of peace and salvation to all mankind by Jesus Christ, in this town, greatly esteemed and beloved by his constant hearers. He has left a widow and ten children.
