- Harpole, Adam - entered service 1774 in Augusta County, Virginia; resided after Revolutionary War in Pendleton County, Virginia, thence in 1792 to Sumner County, Tennessee, thence in 1801 to Wilson County, Tennessee where applied for pension in 1832 abt. age 77; Pension Application Rejected, less than 6 onths service; died there; son Samson resided at age 46 there in 1854 when father already dec'd; query letter in file states an Adam Harpold/Harpole of Augusta County, born 1734, died 1802 Harrison County, Virginia, married Margaret; query letter in file states an Adam Harpold came from Germany to America, was Revolutionary soldier, moved to South Branch of Potomac River, Virginia, & resided 1796 in Harrison County, Virginia. F-R4632, R1194. (Note: the Adam Harpole mentioned in the query letters was the uncle of this Adam Harpole).
