Adam Bennett, Jr.: Biographical Information
Adam was the son of Adam Bennett, Sr. and Hannah. Adam's father Adam, Sr. was formerly enslaved on Magnolia Plantation in Charleston, South Carolina. Adam, Jr. registered for the World War I draft and gave his birthdate as 15 January, 1874. At that time he lived in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and worked as a boatman. He listed his next of kin as Edward Bennett (McClellanville, South Carolina), who may be his brother Gabriel's son.
