Ada Sylvania Warwick was one of twelve children born to Wayne Scott Warwick and Louise B. Eastman. She was born in Jellico, Tennessee, a city located in Tennessee and Kentucky. In Tennessee, Jellico is Campbell county, and in Kentucky Jellico is in Whitley county.

Several of her sister's and brother's eventually moved to the Pacific Northwest. Those making their homes in Clark County, Washington, included Bertha, Elzada, Wilbert, Clarence, George and Sylvester. Her sister, Tereasa remained in West Virginia with her husband, Robert Patrick and children. Another sister, Jeanette, passed away in Wayland, Kentucky. Three of her siblings, Alphonso, Dolly, and Edgar died in their infancy.
