'SHANTZ, ABRAHAM, the eldest son of Isaac Shantz, was born December 15th, 1776. He was married to Allie Hunsberger who was born January 20th, 1775, and died August 27th, 1821. They resided, after they came to Canada, on the farm now possessed by Isadore B. Snyder, a little east of Berlin [Kitchener]. Not finding the country to his expectations and the winter too severe for himself, he left Canada and moved to Harmony, Butler County, Pennsylvania, not far from Pittsburg, where he died December 28th, 1856.'
