[Note: see town copy here. It is not clear why the compilers suggested 1727 as this clearly conflicts with brother Thomas. It appears from spacing of siblings and from the baptism that 1728-9 is the correct year.]

"4. Abraham4 Redington (Thomas,3 Thomas,2 Abrahaml), born in Boxford, Mass., 10 Feb. 1728-9, drowned off the coast of Gloucester, Mass., in Ipswich Bay near Annisquam, in December 1769. He married in Boxford, 9 Aug. 1757, Sarah Kimball, born there 3 Dec. 1736, living in Hawke, N. H., in 1786, daughter of Aaron and Sarah (Wood) Kimball.

Abraham Redington had moved to Haverhill, Mass., in 1767, built a coasting vessel of fifty to sixty tons, and in the wreck lost not only his life but all of his possessions, leaving his wife and family destitute. …

Sarah (Kimball) Redington was admitted to membership in the First Church 13 Dec. 1761. Abraham was admitted 24 Jan. 1762, and was appointed Deacon a few months later, Rev. Elizur Holyoke being the pastor. In 1766 he was Selectman.

Following the death of Abraham Redington all his children, except the infant Hephzibah, were distributed among friends and relatives."
