(1) (as his 2d wife), 9 Jan., 1677, Joshua (s. of Eltweed) Pomeroy of Northfield, Mass., b. 22 Nov., 3646, d. at Deerfield, 16 Oct., 1689; rem. to Deerfield, 1683; she m. (2) (as 3d wife) abt. 1692, Dea. David (s. Nich. and Susanna Joyce) Hoyt, then of Hadley, but b. W. 22 Apl. 1651, who a. 1704. In the Fr. And Ind. attack on Deerfield, 29 Feb., 1704, Dea. Hoyt and his wife, Abigail, and their ch., Jonathan, Sarah, Ebenezer, and Abigail, were carried into captivity in Canada, the youngest boy being killed on the road; the Deacon perished of hunger near the lower Cohoes. The wid. ret., to her home; her s. Ebenezer remained in Can.; the eld. s. was killed in the surprise of D.; she m. (3) (as 4th wife) 25 Aug., 1708, Dea. Nathaniel (s. Rob't and Elizabeth) Royce of Stratford, Conn.; she d. before 1720."
