Facts and Events
Abial lived on the west bank of the Merrimack River in the Pleasant valley section, where he cleared land and in 1720, by the authority of the general court of Mass Bay, established a ferry. On October 19, 1722 he sold 300 acres of land to Richard Kimball of Bradford, MA. This land had been purchased by Abial from Isaac Adams. Abial passed away before the first Congregational Church was formed, but his wife and several of his children were among the first enrolled. His will, dated December 15, 1746, Book 334, Leaf 135, is at Salem, MA. References
