Acquisition of Land from Virginia Northern Neck Land Grants:

• G-133: Abel Westfall of Augusta County, 400 acres. Surv. Mr. James Genn. Tract or lot No. 9 on South Fork of Wappacomo or Great South Branch of Potomack River. 6 Oct. 1748. [Virginia Northern Neck Land Grants, 1742-1775, Vol. 2, Gertrude E. Gray, pg. 29].

• Page 41.--26th October, 1746. Receipt by Sarah Bogert (Bugard), widow of Johannes Bugard, of the South Branch, for articles willed by her husband from the executors Able Westfall and Anthony Bogard, and her bond to preserve the estate to the children. Teste: Abraham Vanderpool, Laya Westfall.

• Page 42.--4th September. 1746. Johannes Bougard's will, of the South Branch--Wife, Sarah, big with child, who must be brought up in her father's house; brother, Anthony Hougard, shoemaker's leather; daughter, Anna Bougard. Executors, Abell Westfall and Anthony Bougard. Teste: Abraham Vanderpool, John Westfall, Jacob Westfall. Proved by Jacob Westfall, 21st May, 1747. Proved by other witnesses, 28th June, 1747.

• Page 42.--21st May, 1747. Abel Westfall qualifies executor of John Bougard, with sureties Thomas West and John States. Teste: Samuel Portcus.

• Vol. 1 - 1749. - Inquisition, 15th April, 1749, on body of Samuel Decker, son of Garret Decker, on the South Branch of Potomac, by Peter Scholl, coroner. Samuel received his death by accident by a penknife. Peter Scholl, coroner; Abram Vanderpool, Able Westfall, Hendrey Scarbrough, James Simpson, Johanes Curtract, Conrad Hoerner, Johann Michael Hoerner, Daniel Hoornbeck, Anthony Logen, George Osborn, John Westfall, Cornelius Curt Right (See Curtract above).
