Aaron Huntley served as a soldier against the Indians in King Philip's War (he was on the enrollment list for Voluntown and drew lot #148). He drew a Cedar Swamp lot as a reward for service (on lists compiled 1 July 1701) and received Lot #50.
Aaron Huntley, Sr was one of those attending the First Town meeting in Lyme, CT., Jan 14, 1677.

... lived with his parents in Lyme in the section now called East Lyme or Huntley Hollow, until his father's death when he built himself a house upon the lot his father gave him and managed his father's estate for the widow... On the town records the maiden name of Mary was left blank and at some later date the name Chamberlain was inserted.[Chamberlain was either a misreading of CHAMPION, or a clerical error]
Under the tax list of Gov. Andros 1688 Aaron or Iron Huntley is listed as follows:

His will, dated 1745, bequeaths to his son Daniel dec'd gifts of lands, to his daus. Elizabeth, wife of Mathew Beckwith and Ruth, wife of Solomon, to the dau. of Solomon, Mary Lattimore, and to David's children, Simon, who lived with him, and Lidy who cared for him so tenderly in his sickness. Witnesses: Lewis DeWolfe, Elisha Huntley, Josiah DeWolf.
John Huntley, Aaron's father, was born Abt. 1624 in England and died November 16, 1676 in Lyme. The only mention of John Huntley in public life was his participation in the New London-Lyme riot, when he with many of his neighbors protested the boundary line between Lyme and New London 12 March 1671/72.*
- John was also admonished by Lyme officials for cohabitation with his future 2nd wife, Mary (Hand) Barnes early in 1669.
Jane Curtis [surname Curtis has not been proved as the name of John Huntley's 1st wife] , Aaron's mother, was born Abt. 1630 in Boston, Suffolk, Mass and died Bef. June 01, 1669 in Lyme.
