    According to Cawley:
-Szabolcs demonstrated that his own previous hypothesis that Stephanie, the wife of Guillaume, was of Lotharingian origin was incorrect.
-Père Anselme has Stephanie as being the daughter of Berenguer Ramón I "el Curvo" Conde de Barcelona, but this is not based on contemporary documentation.
-Settipani suggests that Stephanie may have been the daughter of Bernard [II] Comte de Bigorre & his first wife Clémence (based solely on onomastics).

Despite many sources that indicate this pedigree including Stephanie/Etienette's mother and father, her mother did not exist, and her father may not have married or had children. Clemence de Foix was "calculated to have existed" based on certain evidence which proved false. Some people think that Stephanie/Etienette was Ettienette, daughter of one of the Ramon Berenger, Counts of Barcelona. I am leaving the pedigree in place for these three people until more information is available.

  5. French Wikipedia states that there is no modern document that mentions the parents of Étiennette.

There are a number of hypotheses (fr.wikipedia names 5), that include Longwy and Balcelonese roots, but differ much from each other. Each of these hypotheses has already been falsified.
