| Patrick (5) appears to be the same person as Patrick (1). Lonney's mill creek is a considerable distance from where Patrick (1) settled (Hays Creek area of Bordens Grant and Beverley Manor)
but Patrick (1) sold this property in 1747 to a Charles Mullican (Milican). Two years previous Patrick (1) had sued Charles over the repayment of a note: "Patrick Hays vs. Charles Milliken.--Debt on bond dated 4th June, 1745. Writ 19th February, 1747. Defendant of Township of Deny, County of Lancaster, Pennsylvania." This shows that Millcan came to the area from Derry Township, and that the obligation was probably made in Derry sometime prior to 1745. We know from other documents that Patrick (1) was closely connected to the Hays in Derry Township, and probably came to Old Augusta from there about 1740.
