George Teater payroll and enlistment articles show. he was enlisted by Thomas Bullit from Virginia in Alexander Bealls Co 1757. Payroll record shows he assigned pay to Ensign Burr Harrison a nephew of Thomas Bullit. There are 9 men from virginia whom bullit recieved a bounty several are William Thompson Phillip Love John Nave.Comment had George Teater of been from a colony other than Virginia he would have not been enlisted by Thomas Bullit. He would of been enlisted by Dagworthey or one of Dagwortheys Junior Officers. George assigned his pay to Burr Harrison from Virginia. Therefore by these actions George Teater was from Virginia..

From the discharge date of 1759 in the Dagworthey Regiment George Teater land bounty records Botetourt Court several others record show. the 1760 to 1762 period George Taeter served as the sgt of Nathaniel Gists light Ranger co in the old Virginia Regiment.

1763 a note by George Teaters son Samuel a statement he was born in Botetourt 1763. A court action George Teater was sued and lost 1763. There no records of George Teater in Virginia until 1768. He was somewhere else for 5 years..

English royal crown grants shows a George Teater received a land grant in St Phillips Georgia. 1765. Comment George Teater 1763 was a unemployed Soldier in debt with a new son sued in court. Appears he went to Georgia to regroup better his financial status. Associates of George Teater Richard Pearis Nathaniel Gist traded with the Cherokee in this area before the French Indian war and after. George may have gone there with them..

1768 to 1770 George Teater bought land and entered the South Irish colony called the Crab Creek tract Augusta presnt day Christainburg Montgomery Co Va. Botetourt Court order shows he sold that land with wife Sarah to a member of George Pearis family named Howard Heavin.. Botetourt Court order shows why George Teater sold his land 1770. It was because he received new lands 200 acres for his service in Nathaniel Gists co 1760 -62. A combination of 2 Botetourt Court orders, 1 the sales deed, 1 a statement by Governor Campbell shows the George Teater of Crab Creek is the George Teater and wife Sarah who settled at the middle fork of the Holston 1770 at a place called the Baker Tract.Spot called Bakers Creek.

The land Warrants and surveys issued by Benjamin Harrison and James Thompson Virginia land warrants. Dates 1780 to 1784 show the George Teater and son Samuel Teater more than 18 pages of original documents prove the George Teater of Clarks Station the Samuel Teater of Clarks Station. Lands owned were the the George Teater and son Samuel from Washington Co Va. Harris records on Summers and Botetourt court records show that George Teater Sr and 2 sons named as Samuel Teater and George Teater did belong to military organizations of Washington Co Va.. This shows a trail from Crab Creek to Bakers Creek to Clarks Station. That is the 2nd trail section. The 1st trail section shows from Virginia to Dagwortheys Regiment back to Virginia to Gists Co to Georgia to Crab Creek to Bakers Creek..

The ancestry of George Teater. To make it short 2 historical documents note he was Scotch Irish by Governor David Campbell and by his childrens line in Ft Wayne Indiania. DNA rib can be found in many places in Europe. The present results show by George Teater male line through test subjects by Williams line at i marker mutation. George Teater does not match anyone or families in Germany Swiss Holland ect. George Teater only matchs to Y males DNA matchs of persons from Scotland families from Scotland. Only matchs to persons who migrated from Scotland via Ireland. In the United States George Teaters DNA does not match to any migrants from Holland or Germany. His DNA does match only to migrants from Scotland and Ireland.. This concurrs with George inlaws religion and lifestyle Example being was a Slaver who had his own negro woman. Most Germans were not Slavers on a large scale such as George Teater and sons. The German Teters always used German script in their documents and sigantures. George Teater did not he singed in English script and was expremely fluent in English legal terminology. Indicated in James Thompsons land warrants. George Teater records show he never lived in a German community particiated in a German style church Dunker Lutheran ect. He belonged to sect of the chruch of Scotlands Prebytery of Ebbing springs. All of George Teaters military records show his services were with in English or Scotch Irish units. he had no German in laws or German allied families.. The DNA and records avaliable he was Scotch Irish..

Records of the Neelys Cunninghams Pearis land and will records in the Bahamas and their DNA records I posted is so that in the future if MTDNA testing can be preformed between the Teater and Pearis family. It is to insure they match also to the persons of historical documents in the Bahamas.. In other words if MTDNA testing can show a match to the Neely and Pearis DNA results in regards to their African haplogroups and a close match by any marker it adds strentgh to the 100s of circumstancial documents that George Taeters wife was Sarah Pearis from George Pearis line. Richard Pearis had no living descendants except for [Cherokee George proven] circunstanial indian daughters. George Pearis had proven George Jr Robert Christian proven. Rhoda and Sarah most strongly fit by circumstancial evidence. The will of George Pearis has yet to be found. The real estate transactions of George Teater are with those of George Pearis family. The military records show many with George Pearis family. The naming patterns of Parris. George Pearis Robert Pearis Sarah Pearis in 3 generations of George Teaters children. The migrations of John Jones Robert Pearis George Pearis Rhoda Pearis to Garrard Kentucky are all circumstancial evidence which mount up to 100s of documents that indicate George Teaters wife was the daughter of George Pearis..

Confusions of the time line of the 3 early Teters 1730s Orange Co. 1 John George Deiter from Wuttenberg lived in the Germmana Colony died 1743. He founded the [Teter Hinkle] clan which lived in the Pendelton Co Rockingham Co areas. Old times this family had a George Teter who lived at the same time of our George Teater. His records are shown on another George Teater notebook. He is a German Farmer [Teter Hinkle George Teter]

John George Dieter born 1739 A son of Jorig Fetter who came on the Ship Allen also known as John George Dieter. This individual was inserted in the book the Kentucky Teater family in 1972. At a later date the Author Glen Teater retracted this genealogy and said!! this is not! the George Teater we published in the book 1792.. The book a genealogy of Johan George Dieter who was born 1739 by his grandchildren Eunice Deiter details his life in a 98 page manuscript which is posted below..

The 3rd George Teater was George Jeter. A son of John Jeter who came from the Brittish islands 1690 and settled at Mattapony Creek. This George Jeter came from Caroline Co Va to Orange Co in 1734. He and a brother William Jeter both changed their names to Teator Tetor. This George Teator appears with the Pearis family records as George Teator. This George Jeter Teator by time line DNA fit more as the most favorable probable father of our subject the Scotch Irish George Teater..

The headstones of George Teater and his wife were found after the book the Teater family of Kentucky was published. The real headstones documents by its inscription that George Teater ws 79 yrs old in 1815. It means he was born 1736. The headstone has been relocated from the Old Teater cemetery on the Old Teater farm to the DAR section at state cemetery Franckfprt. It is about 20 feet from Daniel Boones grave and there is a small sign next to road that says George Teater with a small arrow pointing the direction to the real headstone which has carved the intials G.T. 79 yrs old 1815.

George Teaters wives. The Madison Co marriage shows George Teater married a Esther Griffith 1796 and it shows his son in law Samuel Griffith as the bondsman Appears she is a maiden of Jonas or John Griffith 2 characters on records with George Teater. The 3rd wife was also named Ester this is proved by the Totten family POA. Located in both the Oveton TN court archives and the Garrard Court Archives. it says George Teater Sr married the widow of Benjamin Totten Sr. Records show Benjamin Totten Sr was still alive in 1802 So both Esthers are not the same women. One was maiden of Jonas Griffith family one was a wife of Benjamin Totten Sr her surname is unknown unproven.. Therefore George Teaters 1st wife sarah died in Garrard Kentucky 1794. The 2nd wife Esther death is unknown. The 3rd wife Ester widow of Benjamin Totten is unknown. Beleived to be buried next her son in a unmarked grave Joseph H Totten. the souces for the above remarks the documents are posted on the various George and notebooks. ALSO here on the revision page.--Parris 07:57, 12 December 2008 (EST)

There are particular persons mentioned on George Teaters Land Warrants and surveys in Lincoln Co KY. One particular person is John Baker. Another character mentioned on George Teaters land warrants and surveys in Lincoln Co was George Buchanan. Who was George Buchanan and how was he connected to George Teater?--Parris 10:12, 14 December 2008 (EST)

As in the case of Georg Teater and John Baker. George Teater and George Buchanan go way back together thru the Botetpourt Fincastle Washington Co timelines all the way to their surveys in kentucky. THis appears as a special scotch irish social group. From the Buchanan family website GEORGE BUCHANAN, son of James and Mary (Reside) Buchanan, was born about 1746 in Augusta County, Virginia. He married Margaret McAfee about 1767, daughter of James and Jane (McMichael) McAfee. She was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania about 1746. (For further information on the McAfee family, see the History on the McAfee's).

On June 10, 1770, he bought 163 acres on Catawba Creek in Botetourt County, Virginia from his father-in-law, James McAfee. George sold the land back to James McAfee on May 15, 1772. He later moved to what is now Washington County, Virginia.
In his father's will, which was proved in 1765, he had received 107 acres of a parcel of land on Walker's Creek in Augusta. In November of 1782, while living in Washington County, he and his brothers, who had also received parcels of the same property on Walker's Creek, deeded that land to their brother David, which amounted to 415 acres.
About 1782 George and Margaret moved their family to Salt River in Mercer County, Kentucky. On July 11, 1794, he gave a power of attorney to Arthur Campbell to receive a deed from James Wood for 200 acres on Cedar Creek in Washington County, Virginia, receiving the deed from Mary Wood on November 10, 1794.
George died in May 5, 1813 in Mercer County, Kentucky. We don't have a death date for his wife, Margaret..

NOTE THE SALT RIVER. This exactly the spot on George Teaters survey and Land Warrant is with George Bucahanan in Kentucky. Yes indeed George Teater the Sgt was exactly the same person of Lincoln Co and Washington Co Va.--Parris 10:38, 14 December 2008 (EST)

From the words of Governor David Campbell. page 96

For "The Virginian" Old Washington

"Some account of the first settlers of old Washington County, Virginia, would, no doubt, be interesting to many of the readers of the Virginian, and I could tell them something on that subject, if I had the resolution to write it down, but on that point I have some misgivings. I will, however, try.--Parris 10:41, 14 December 2008 (EST)

Continued I have named such as occurs to me, but that the reader may know who were the heads of families that composed the Rev. Charles Cummings' congregation at Sinking Spring, in the Grace Spring neighborhood, I will give a list of their names, and it must be remembered that they were all Presbyterians.

"These families were in the county previous to 1772:--Parris 10:44, 14 December 2008 (EST)

continued, the names George Buchanan George Tutor Teator.. Note Gov Campbell said both George Teater and George Buchanan were in the county before 1772. So George and George Buchanan and Teator go way back together through Washington Co all the way to Kentucky,--Parris 10:56, 14 December 2008 (EST)

Annals of Southwest Virginia: 1769-1800: Volumes I & II - Google Books Result by Lewis Preston Summers - 1992 - History - 1732 pages ... Shows both George Teator and George Buchanan went way back together to at least 1770. Then all the way to Kentucky. They were the same from Washington Co Va to Kentucky. Refresh its established the Scotch Irish social group George Teator James Baker George Buchanan go back to the point of 1770 Botetpourt Fincaslte Washington Co at the Middle fork of the Holston. They all appear together from the Middle fork of the Holston Washington Co Va to Kentucky as well as George Teaters son Samuel Teator. The botetourt court orders shows George Teater received his 200 acres at Bakers creek established by his sales deed settlement 1770. This was for service in the Old Virginia Regiment 1760 to 1762. The above records Botetourt Court Archives then show that the George teater of Crab Creek recieved 200 acres at Bakers Creek Botetourt Fincastle Washington Co va and sold his land Crab Creek to Howard Heavin. This establishes that George Teater relocated from Crab Creek to Bakers Creek later Washington Co. The other archives show he was the same George Teater that went to Kentucky with son Samuel 1779. There is another name here on the Boteourt Court archives, Arron Lewis. He signed off on George Teators sale deed to John Porterfield. Arron Leweis is also listed as the commander Militia middle fork Holston district 1782 Washington Co Tax List. Arron Lewis also shows on the 1787 Madison Kentucky tax list with George Teater..
