Scotch Irish in Northampton

Overview

Person:John Hays (15) is said to have been born in Ireland about 1705, married Jane Love about 1724, and came to America between 1730 and 1732. According to some they initially settled in Chester County, but eventually moved to Bucks (now Northampton). Here he settled near Weaverville, a few miles north of Bethlehem, where he "kept a public house on the road leading from Bethlehem to Gnadenhuetten, now known as Weisport".
