This indenture made this 19th day of August in year one thousand eight hundred and 41 between Robert Madison and Rachel his wife of the County of Harrison and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and James Hiten of the County and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Robert Madison and Rachel his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and five dollars current money of Kentucky to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said James Hiten and his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the County of Harrison on the waters of Mill & Twin Creek containing thirty acres and bounded as follows (viz): Beginning at a Hickory and Red Oak then N 6º E 81 poles to a White Oak thence S 86 E 64.5 poles to a Red and White oak corner to Pock's thence S 6º W 65 poles to the Beginning. Together with all and singular the premises thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurtenances unto the said James Hiten and his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Robert Madison and wife for themselves and his executors and administrators the aforesaid tract of land and premises unto the said James Hiten and his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons, that is he the said Robert Madison and wife for themselves and heirs & defend against all claims whatsoever to twenty five acres of said land lying adjacent to Conrad and Gardner, but the remaining five adjoining Pock's Old Survey they defend from any claim or claims from themselves or heirs and they will forever defend by these presents.
