JOHN WALKER TO PETER DICKEY

This Indenture made this sixth day of September in the year of our Lord God one thosand seven hundred and sixty nine [1769] between John Walker of Charlestown Chester County and province of Pennsylvania Oldest son and heir at law of William Walker late of Cumberland County deceased who died intestate of the one part and Peter Dickey of Lurgan Township Cumberland County and province aforesaid of the other part Whereas in pursuance of one Warrante from the Honorable the propriators of the Province of Pennsylvania being dated at Philadelphia the seventeenth October one thosand seven hundred and forty nine then was surveyed and laid out to the same William Walker in his life time a certain Plantation and tract of land situate in Lurgan Township aforesaid and County of Cumberland Bounded by Lands of Arthur Miller and by Land of James Smith and by Land of John Hnery as by the same survey remaining in the survey generals office Maymore at large the same tract containing one hundred and ninty acres be the same more or less ?eltion being had to the survey of the same and where the aforesaid William Walker afterwards died intestate leaving a widow and four children to survive him and whereas the aforesaid John Walker eldest son and heir at law of the aforesaid William Walker deceased for and in consideration of the sum of Forty Pounds to him in hand paid by the aforesaid Peter Dickey Before the sealing and Delivery these presents the receipts whereof is hereby acknowledged he the aforesaid John hath granted bargained and sold released and confirmed and by these present doth grant bargain sell and release and confirm unto the above named Peter Dickey the two fifths of the above mentioned tract of land plantation situate in Lurgan Township aforesaid as the same is described bounded and set forth together will all and singular the house outhouses buildings barns stables edificis commoditys advantages rights members improvements rents issues and profits of the same or to the same or any part or parcel of the same Belonging and Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders thereof To Have to and To Hold the aforesaid two fifths of land and premisses with the appertences hereby mentioned Granted or intended so to be unto the aforesaid Peter Dickey and to his Heirs and assignes to the only proper use of the aforesaid Peter Dickey his Heirs and Assignes for ever Subject. Nevertheless to the payment of the residue of the purchase money interest and Quit Rents thereon due and hereafter to come due and other the Reservations on the Same reserved and due to the Honorable the Proprietors of the province aforesaid there Heirs and ?????????& the aforesaid John Walker on behalf of him and his Heirs doth covenant to and with the aforesaid Peter Dickey his heirs and assigns that he the aforesaid John Walker the aforesaid and above described two fifths of the above Tract of land and premisses of all the appurtenances as the same is above set forth unto the the aforesaid Peter Dickey and to his heirs and assignes against him the said John Walker and his heirs and assigns all and all manner of persons laying or may hereafter claim by through under or by means of him or them shall warrent and will forever defend by these presents in Testimony Whereof the parties aforesaid have to these presents interchangably set their hands and seal the day and year above written John Walker (seal)

Cumberland ss Came before me the subscriber on of his Majestys Justices for the said county John Walker and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed and desires that itmay be admitted to record as such Witness my hand and seal September 12 1769 Sam Henry (Seal) Recorded February 19th 1784 & Compd Willm Lyon Recd

This Indenture made this twelfth day of November in the year of our Lord God one thousand Seven Hundred and seventy one between Thomas Walker of Bedminster and provence of New Jersy second son of William Walker late of Cumberland County deceased who died intestate of the one part and Peter Dickey of Lurgan Township Cumberland County and province aforesaid of the other part Whereas in Persuance of one warrant from the Honorable the Propriators of the Province of Pennsylvania Debted at Philadelphia the Seventeenth of October one thousand seven hundred and forty nine then was surveyed and laid out to the same William Walker in his lifetime a certain plantation and tract of land situate in Lurgan Township aforsaid and County of Cumberland Bounded by land of Arthur Miller and by land of James Smith and by land of John Henry as by the same survey remaining in the surveyor generals office Maymore at large the same tract containing one hundred and ninty acres be the same more or less relation being had to the survey of the same and where the aforsaid William Walker afterwards died intestate leaving a widow and four children to survive him and whereas the aforesaid Thomas Walker second son and heir at law of the aforsaid William Walker deceased for and in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds to him inhand paid by the aforsaid Peter Dickey before the sealing and deliverying of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged . . .
