Ducie Benoit

VINTON. Funeral services for Ducie Benoit, 82, of Vinton, will be at 3 p.m. today at the Hammer Funeral Home in Sulphur.

The Rev. R. L. Green, pastor of the Southside Baptist Church of Carlyss will officiate. Burial will be in Landry Cemetery south of Sulphur.

Mr. Benoit died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday in a Sulphur hospital.

Born July 26, 1882, in the Black Bayou community south of Lake Charles, he was the son of the late John and Mary Benoit, pioneers of Calcasieu parish. He was a retired school bus driver and a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Eulice Benoit Sr. of Sulphur, Dotsie S. Benoit of Porthur, Texas, and Lennie J. Benoit of Vinton; two daughters, Mrs. S. P. Richardson or Orange, Texas, and Mrs. C. A. Powell of Groves, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
