Portrait of Alexander Campbell Mackenzie. Youthful, standing with his hands behind his back. Full beard and moustache, balding. Wearing a pale-coloured frock-coat with matching trousers and a high-buttoned waistcoat, with a fob chain attached. High wing-collared pale shirt with tie. Pocket kerchief. Looking to the camera. Signed on the lower right mount in black ink by the sitter, 'A. C. Mackenzie'.
